A Year in the Life of a Calendar Coordinator

We are a small but mighty team here at Blue Mound Graphics. You may have already learned a little about our calendar crew from our website (and if you haven’t had a chance yet, check out our bios).

It’s safe to say that none of us went to school to receive a degree in calendar coordination. Yet collectively, we are handling the creation and production of your eye-catching imprints with our knowledge pool. We pride ourselves on customer service as we take orders by phone, fax, email, and mail (our mail carrier’s name is Pam). Our attention to detail really shines in all phases of your imprint’s production.

Winter / Spring

What we do during the day varies by where we are in the production timeline. During the year’s first quarter, we send out re-order packets with catalogs and start taking orders. We tip our hats to those who place their orders early! You have the distinct advantage of being first in line as we process orders when they are received. You have your choice of calendar style, and your calendars get shipped out sooner! The calendar’s being shipped is our favorite part.

Summer

Once summer hits, we are in full production mode! We are starting new orders, proofreading imprints, and sending them out to you for approval. We squeeze in a little fun between taking orders, calling customers, and creating one-of-a-kind imprints. One of the fun things we do as a company is go out to lunch for each calendar crew member’s birthday. We have explored some interesting restaurants and cuisines because of this team-building activity.

When it is summer and the weather finally warms up here in the Midwest, we can eat outdoors thanks to a private patio area behind our building. The warmer days of the year also encourage several of us (including the company owner) to commute to work on our bicycles. No e-bikes here! We get our workouts in daily and reduce our carbon footprint.

Fall / Winter

Beginning in late summer/early fall, we will start to make phone calls regarding your imprint proof. If we haven’t heard back from you, you are getting a phone call. This is an all-hands-on-deck effort… we want you to get your calendars in time for Christmas!

After our October 1st deadline, our crew really gets in the swing of things. We continue to process orders (as we have been all year long), but now we get to ship out your calendar orders! As we said, this is our favorite part!
We are designing, creating, and preparing calendars for the next year all year long. This includes taking your suggestions to our development team after our coordinators chat with you. When you provide a compliment or relay an opportunity for improvement, we use that information to make our calendars and processes the best they can be. Your input is important and valued!

It is calendar crunch time now that we are closing in on the end of the year. This means it is time for our team to return to work processing orders. We appreciate you taking the time to learn about what we do every day, and thank you for your continued business!
